Staying in Avon
Avon is a real town at the foot of Beaver Creek, with a lake in the middle, the Eagle River on one side and supermarkets on the main street. It offers the best value in the valley, it is twenty minutes from Eagle County Regional Airport, and it is where our own office is.
A Gondola to Beaver Creek
The free Riverfront Express Gondola runs from the Riverfront area of Avon up to Beaver Creek Landing, where you connect to the Beaver Creek lifts. Many guests ski Beaver Creek all week without ever moving the car.
Skiing Vail From Avon
Vail is about 15 minutes away on I-70. The regional Core Transit bus connects Avon with Vail and Beaver Creek, runs 21 hours a day all year, and most riders now travel fare-free. It takes longer than driving, but it is a real option rather than a theoretical one.
Summer in Avon
In summer the town is at its best: paddleboarding and free concerts at Nottingham Park and Lake, fishing and rafting on the Eagle River, and bike paths along the valley floor.
