Lionshead Vacation Rentals

Lionshead is Vail’s second pedestrian village, just west of Vail Village along Gore Creek. It was built later and laid out more openly, with wide plazas, a mix of hotels and condos, and a gondola of its own.

The Eagle Bahn Gondola

The Eagle Bahn Gondola climbs from Lionshead to Eagle’s Nest, with Game Creek Bowl and the western Front Side close at hand. Mornings at the Eagle Bahn are usually calmer than at Gondola One — not empty, but calmer, which counts for a lot at 8:45 on a busy February morning.

Walkable, With a Place to Park

Ski rental, restaurants and the Dobson Ice Arena are all on foot, and Vail Village is a 10–15 minute walk east along the creek or a short ride on the free town bus. Lionshead also has its own parking structure, which makes arriving with a car full of luggage simpler than in Vail Village.

Who It Suits

Families and groups who want gondola access and a walkable village without the busiest part of town, and skiers who like to be first in line without fighting for it.

Summer in Lionshead

In summer the Eagle Bahn carries hikers and mountain bikers to Eagle’s Nest, where the trails, summer activities and mountaintop dining are. Back at the base, the creekside path runs through Lionshead toward Vail Village and Cascade Village.
