Vail Vacation Rentals

The Town of Vail runs for several miles along Gore Creek, from West Vail to East Vail. Three base areas sit at the foot of Vail Mountain in the middle of town — Lionshead, Vail Village and Golden Peak — with residential neighborhoods spread out on either side. The free Town of Vail bus ties all of it together, year-round, so wherever you stay inside town you can get to a lift without driving.

The Three Base Areas

• Vail Village — the pedestrian heart of town, with Gondola One, most of the restaurants and the classic Vail look. Best for a first trip without a car.
• Golden Peak — the easternmost base, home to the ski school and the terrain park, and to most of our ski-in/ski-out homes. Best for families with children in lessons.
• Lionshead — the second village, with the Eagle Bahn Gondola, a parking structure and calmer mornings than Vail Village.

The Neighborhoods

• East Vail — houses, quiet streets and trailheads into the Eagles Nest Wilderness.
• West Vail — the grocery stores, parking at the house and the best price per bed in town.
• Vail Golf Course — our summer favorite, with the golf course and Nordic center outside the door.

Getting Here

Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE) is about 35 minutes from Vail. Denver International is roughly two hours east on I-70, longer when winter weather slows the mountain passes. We arrange private airport transfers from both, with no service fee.
